PSV forward Ruben van Bommel has been praised by analyst Arnold Bruggink, who believes the young player has a bright future ahead of him. Bruggink made his comments during an appearance on Voetbalpraat on ESPN. Van Bommel's potential was also discussed in the context of PSV's 1-0 defeat to RB Leipzig in the Champions League.

Analyst Danny Koevermans also spoke about the match, describing it as "equal" until the final half hour, when RB Leipzig took control. Koevermans praised PSV goalkeeper Matej Kovar, who he felt had a "fantastic" game, despite missing out on the man-of-the-match award due to a slight touch on a shot from Gruda.

Bruggink also discussed the penalty awarded to PSV, which was given due to a handball by RB Leipzig's Ivan Perisic. Bruggink believes that Van Bommel is "ijskoud" (ice-cold) and would be the right choice to take penalties for PSV, going on to say that he thinks Van Bommel will become an "absolute topspeler" (top player).
