Bakayoko, who joined RB Leipzig six years after leaving PSV in 2019, has been absent from the team for a while, but his absence was particularly noticeable in the recent 6-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt. Demichelis acknowledged the disciplinary suspension during the pre-Champions League press conference against PSV.
The coach downplayed the incident, stating that Bakayoko had made a small mistake but is a good player. Demichelis also expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming match against PSV, praising their clear playing style and commitment to possession football.
The match against PSV will be a crucial test for RB Leipzig, who suffered a 4-1 defeat in their first Champions League match of the season against Como. PSV, on the other hand, earned a point against Shakhtar Donetsk.
