Gudelj is a free agent after his contract with Sevilla expired this summer. Royal Antwerp had hoped to sign the experienced midfielder, but it appears they will miss out on his services. The Belgian club had seen a glimmer of hope after Jules Ahoka's departure to Sunderland, but it seems they will not be able to secure Gudelj's signature. VoetbalPrimeur reports that Gudelj's salary demands had previously been a stumbling block for Antwerp. Now, it seems a return to Spain is on the cards. Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed that the negotiations are in their final stages. A move to Getafe would see Gudelj become a rival of Ajax in the Conference League, as the two clubs were drawn against each other in the competition's group stage. Gudelj has a wealth of experience, having played 180 official matches for NAC, AZ and Ajax, and 261 for Sevilla, where he won two Europa League titles. He has also earned 75 caps for the Serbian national team.
