The Ajax philosophy plays a significant role within Midtjylland. Larsen explains that Ajax has been an inspiration for the club's approach to football for years. "We know what a great, traditional, and fantastic club Ajax is. We even train our coaches and leaders in the Ajax philosophy," he says. "My mentor was greatly inspired by Ajax. I have a lot of admiration for the way they play, train, and develop players."
According to Larsen, Ajax has shown how a club can develop players while achieving sporting success. "The combination of player development and good results is something we can learn from," he notes. "In Denmark, Ajax is a very large club, but even big clubs can struggle." Larsen highlights the lasting impact of Ajax's influence on Midtjylland's approach. "A significant part of our player development is inspired by Ajax. We always ask ourselves: can we reach that level?" Midtjylland faces Ajax in the MCH Arena on Thursday.
