Bissouma joins Ajax after being a free agent following his departure from Tottenham Hotspur, where he played 111 games. The London club purchased him from Brighton & Hove Albion for 30 million euros four years ago. Voetbalzone reports that Bissouma will wear the number 28 shirt at Ajax.
Ajax's technical director Jordi Cruijff is pleased with the signing, stating that Bissouma can add a lot to the team. "We have brought in an experienced player who knows what it takes to perform at the highest level," Cruijff said. "He can play in multiple positions and we hope he will be available for the first team as soon as possible."
Bissouma has been without a club for several months, and it appears unlikely that he will be available for Ajax's upcoming match against Excelsior on Saturday.
