The Saudi Football Federation (SAFF) and the Professional League (SPL) have condemned the behaviour of some Al-Taawoun fans who shouted the name of Diogo Jota to provoke Rúben Neves of Al-Hilal, Globo Esporte Futebol reports. The two bodies have announced that they will take measures after the case is analysed.

The incident occurred during the match between Al-Taawoun and Al-Hilal in the Saudi League last Saturday. The fans' behaviour was deemed unacceptable by the SAFF and SPL, who stated that it is incompatible with the values of Saudi football and the principles of sportsmanship. Cristiano Ronaldo has also called for a lifelong ban for the fans involved, saying that they should be banned from stadiums forever.
