Maik has been out of the team's plans since March and has been training separately from the rest of the squad. The 21-year-old has received other offers since July, but the negotiations have not progressed. The interested clubs included teams from the United Arab Emirates and Ukraine. Maik has not been involved in a game since São Paulo's loss to Palmeiras in the Campeonato Brasileiro on March 21.
Maik has a contract with São Paulo FC until May 2028 and has played 18 games, scoring 2 goals, since being promoted to the professional team. The club holds 90% of his economic rights. Maik was part of the São Paulo team that won the Copinha in 2025 and is a product of the club's youth academy.
The MFK Dukla currently sits in 10th place in the Slovakian league.
