Mark McKenzie is set to leave Toulouse, with the defender returning to the MLS in January to sign with the Philadelphia Union. This move was first announced by The Athletic in mid-August. McKenzie has been with Toulouse since 2024 and has played 89 matches for the club, including 30 selections for the US national team. He participated in the Coupe du monde and has been a regular starter in the centre of defence.

The departure of McKenzie will leave Toulouse with only three central defenders, Rasmus Nicolaisen, David Odogu, and Seny Koumassa. The club's sporting director, Viktor Bezhani, has stated that they will need to sign a fourth central defender to replace McKenzie.
