L'Équipe Football reports that several Ligue 1 players will be absent from their teams' opening weekend matches due to suspension. The Ligue 1 website confirmed the news on Wednesday, listing the eleven players who will miss the first round of the 2026-2027 season.

The most notable player among the suspended is Nuno Mendes, who received a red card in the Trophée des champions and will miss Lille's match against Rennes on Sunday. Mendes was also joined by teammate Kyllian Antonio, who was also sent off in the Trophée des champions. Lens will have to play without Mahdi Camara and Kyllian Antonio in their match against Auxerre on Saturday.

Lille will be without two players for their match against Angers on Sunday: captain Benjamin André and striker Matias Fernandez-Pardo. Toulouse will also have two players suspended for their match against Lyon on Saturday: Dayann Méthalie and Alexis Vossah. Olympique de Marseille will be without Quinten Timber and Alexi Koum for their match against Strasbourg on Friday, while Monaco will play without Christian Mawissa in their match against Havre on Sunday.

The suspended players will have to sit out their respective matches, with no clear indication of when they will be eligible to return to action.
