Diogo Leite joins Lazio on a two-year deal with an option to extend for a further 12 months, having seen his contract with Union Berlin expire on June 30, 2026. The centre-back is particularly familiar with fellow centre-back Danilho Doekhi, as the pair both spent the previous four seasons in the Bundesliga with Union Berlin. They have already played alongside each other in 108 competitive matches, including 94 in the Bundesliga, seven in the Europa League and seven in the DFB Pokal.

Leite becomes Lazio's seventh new first-team signing of the 2026-27 season following the previous arrivals of Davide Frattesi, Andrea Pinamonti, Josip Sutalo, Danilho Doekhi, Alfonso Pedraza and Bruno Galassi. He joins Lazio ahead of their upcoming Serie A clash at home against Milan on Saturday evening, as the Biancocelesti look to maintain their perfect start to the season.
