Jur Schipper, who announced his decision to stop playing professional football earlier this summer, has reversed his decision. The 20-year-old goalkeeper is now back on the training field at Jong AZ and is pursuing a career in the top sport once again.
Schipper explained in an interview with the Noordhollands Dagblad that he had lost himself in the sport, feeling overwhelmed by the pressure and expectations. He stated that he had been so focused on football that he had lost sight of his own well-being.
After a summer of reflection and enjoying his free time, Schipper has rediscovered his passion for the sport. He expressed his gratitude to AZ for keeping the door open for his return, saying, "I am extremely thankful to the club for that."
