Against a well-organised Bodø defence in the first half, Bayern's No.10, Jamal Musiala, grew in confidence as the game advanced. He carved notable shooting opportunities for himself and brought teammates into play before breaking the deadlock shortly after the break. The 23-year-old's half-volley, following Harry Kane's blocked effort in the 47th minute, sent Vincent Kompany's charges on their way to a convincing victory.
Musiala cut a delighted figure after being substituted in the 65th minute, running into the arms of Kompany with a beaming grin. "The goal made me really happy," he told DAZN after the final whistle. "It was a great moment." The Bayern midfielder expressed his happiness at being back in rhythm, saying: "I'm happy to be back in rhythm. I received a lot of support from the coaching staff and the team. Now I want to get back to my level, step by step, have fun again and get back to my best."
Kompany was equally delighted, saying: "I and 75,000 people, and probably even more in front of the television were delighted by that." Bayern's next challenge is a home match against newly promoted Elversberg, who are two for two in Germany's top flight.
