The Tigers are looking to bolster their squad, having already added 12 new players this summer. One of their main targets is Chelsea midfielder Dario Essugo, with a potential deal being considered. Essugo is amongst Hull's transfer targets as they eye five more signings before the deadline, and the 21-year-old would prefer to join the Tigers over heading to Ligue 1, where Strasbourg are also interested in a loan move for him.
Hull have an agreement in place with Stuttgart for right-back Josha Vagnoman, with personal terms being discussed ahead of a possible move to the MKM Stadium. Vagnoman, who has two caps for Germany, made 27 Bundesliga appearances last season. The former Portugal youth international is one of several midfielders being considered ahead of the deadline.
In addition to Essugo and Vagnoman, Hull are also looking to sign a new defender before the window closes at 11pm on Tuesday. Midfielder Tim Iroegbunam is set to join from Everton on an initial £13million deal, and Hull transfer plans are also focused on signing a new striker. Joe Gelhardt has already joined the club on a permanent deal from Leeds United, but an ankle injury has left Oli McBurnie as the only recognised senior striker available to manager Sergej Jakirovic.
Hull followed up their opening weekend win over Manchester United with another victory on Saturday, and they host Aston Villa in their next Premier League outing on Saturday, September 5, with kick-off at 5.30pm.
