Badiashile originally joined Chelsea in a €37m transfer from Monaco in January 2023, after making 135 competitive appearances for the Ligue 1 side. He went on to make 42 appearances for Chelsea in the Premier League over the last four seasons. The loan deal includes an option to buy Badiashile for €23m, with Napoli paying a fee of €3m to sign him on loan for the season. This makes him Napoli's second new first-team signing of the summer transfer window, following the arrival of Costantino Favasuli from US Catanzaro earlier this week.
The buy options for Rasmus Hojlund, Alisson Santos, and Vanja Milinkovic-Savic were also exercised this summer, suggesting that Napoli are actively strengthening their squad ahead of the new season. Badiashile becomes the latest addition to a team that is looking to build on their recent successes. According to Football Italia, Napoli have agreed to pay a fee of €3m to sign Badiashile on loan from Chelsea, with an option to make the transfer permanent for a further €20m.
