According to Globo Esporte Futebol, Allan was transferred to Manchester City in August for 40 million euros, leaving Palmeiras in a deal worth around 240 million reais. The agreement includes 37.5 million euros in fixed payments and 2.5 million euros in bonuses. Allan signed a five-year contract with the club.
Allan's debut was a significant one, as he directly contributed to two goals in the match. He started by capitalising on a mistake by Norwich goalkeeper Daniel Grimshaw, playing the ball into the middle of the area for Samba to open the scoring in the 28th minute of the first half. In the third minute of the second half, Allan received the ball on the left, beat his marker, and scored his first goal for Manchester City.
The transfer of Allan to Manchester City was the third-largest deal in Palmeiras' history, behind only the sales of Estêvão to Chelsea and Endrick to Real Madrid.
