Ajax have finally secured the signing of Sofyan Amrabat, a move that has been welcomed by the club's supporters. According to VoetbalPrimeur, Bram van Polen, a former Ajax defender, is positive about the upcoming arrival of the Moroccan midfielder, describing him as a "breker" who will bring much-needed defensive stability to the team.
Van Polen believes that Amrabat will be a valuable addition to the Ajax squad, saying: "Ik denk dat de supporters daar vooral heel blij mee mogen zijn." His comments are echoed by Kees Kwakman, a fellow Ajax fan, who is also pleased that the club has finally found a controlling midfielder. "Wij zijn ook blij hoor. We hebben anderhalf jaar lang over een mogelijke nummer 6 van Ajax zitten zeveren. Nu is hij eindelijk binnen."
Amrabat, a 30-year-old Moroccan international, joins Ajax on a free transfer from Fenerbahçe, where he had his contract terminated. He has previously played for FC Utrecht, Feyenoord, Fiorentina, and Manchester United. A contract until mid-2028 is reportedly in place for him in Amsterdam.
