Celta de Vigo had previously considered letting Moriba leave this summer, but their stance has now changed. The La Liga club is no longer willing to let Moriba depart, despite previously rejecting a transfer offer from Nottingham Forest for Javi Rueda. Celta de Vigo had also rejected a loan offer with a mandatory purchase option from Ajax, which included taking over Moriba's salary.

Moriba's past has been marked by a series of loan spells, including stints at Valencia, Getafe, and Celta de Vigo. The 25-time international for Guinea was once considered a top talent at FC Barcelona, but failed to meet expectations in Germany after joining RB Leipzig for €16 million in 2021. Celta de Vigo took him over permanently last year for €6 million. Bayer Leverkusen is also interested in signing Moriba.

Celta de Vigo's determination to hold onto their players is evident in their rejection of Ajax's bid and their previous rejection of Nottingham Forest's offer for Javi Rueda.
