The wild boars targeted a pitch used by Oviedo's first team, as well as a pitch used by the women's team and reserve team, leaving the first team's pitches untouched. The El Requexón training facility is located in a rural area near the Nora River, where it's common for wild animals to roam. Real Oviedo were relegated from LaLiga last season, finishing bottom of the division with just six wins all campaign.

The club is currently cutting costs at the facility, which has resulted in damage to areas that are no longer being repaired. Real Oviedo are planning to move to a new training facility soon, which may alleviate some of the issues they are currently facing. The team will begin their new campaign on Saturday against Leganés, hoping to return to LaLiga.
