The new contract between Racing and Inter for Valentín Carboni extends until the end of 2027, with the winger set to return to the pitch in November after a long injury layoff. Carboni suffered a complete rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament and a partial rupture of the external collateral ligament in his right knee in February 2026, during a practice. He played only five games for Racing in 2026, but will now have the chance to make a comeback.

The new contract includes a clause where Racing will receive $200,000 from Inter for each four games Carboni plays, with a minimum of 20 minutes per game. This is the same condition as in the current contract, which was established before Carboni's injury. The clause was triggered only once, when Carboni played his fourth game against Banfield in February.

Carboni chose to undergo rehabilitation at Racing's Academy, where he felt comfortable and was able to make a faster recovery than expected. He will now have the chance to make a comeback and play for Racing until the end of 2027. Another player, Alan Forneris, is also recovering from a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, which he suffered in May.
