Tyrell Malacia has signed for FC Cincinnati, the club announced. Malacia, a 27-year-old left-back, had been without a club since leaving Manchester United in the summer. He is a Feyenoord youth product who struggled with frequent injuries in recent years.

Malacia had a brief stint in England, where he started well but suffered a knee injury that required surgery, which unfortunately went wrong, leaving him out of action for several years. Despite being given a few opportunities to play under Michael Carrick last season, a contract extension was not on the table.

FC Cincinnati are currently ninth in the Eastern Conference of the MLS. The club will face Inter Miami, Lionel Messi's team, in about a month's time. Malacia has agreed to a contract with the club until mid-2027, with the option of extending for another year.
