The Leeuwarders had initially closed the away stand for a match after Feyenoord fans threw fireworks onto the pitch, putting Feyenoord goalkeeper Tjark Ernst at risk and injuring several Cambuur fans. As a result, FC Twente supporters were not allowed to attend their next home match. However, following a meeting between the local authorities and SC Cambuur, the away stand will be reopened for the upcoming weekend.

Cambuur has stated that they are pleased with the decision, as out-of-town supporters are an integral part of the matchday experience and should not be penalized for the actions of a minority.
