Rick Kruys, a 41-year-old coach with a past as a player and (assistant-)trainer at Jong FC Utrecht, has been appointed as the new coach of NAC Breda. In an interview with BN De Stem, Kruys expressed his excitement about taking on the challenge of coaching NAC Breda. He acknowledged that the club's size and attention from top teams make the task even more daunting. "NAC is a club in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie, but with maybe the attention of a top five team," Kruys said.
Kruys is aware that managing NAC Breda can be a delicate task, given the club's history of controversy. However, he is determined to stay calm and focus on his own approach. "I will try to remain calm and follow my own course, together with the people around me," he said. The coach has thoroughly analysed the team's recent performances and knows what needs to be improved.
Kruys also wants to address the team's inconsistent playing style. He believes that the players need to adapt to a more defined approach. "We need to find a way to play and set things up clearly," Kruys said. This weekend, Kruys will be on the bench for the first time as NAC Breda takes on Jong FC Utrecht at home.
