The total investment in the women's football transfer market has more than doubled compared to last year's figure, with a significant increase in spending by women's teams. The FIFA's report highlights a 19.2% increase in international transfers compared to the previous record. This surge in spending is not limited to the women's game, with the men's transfer market also seeing a significant increase in investment this summer. The English Premier League alone saw a staggering €4 billion invested in the transfer market.
The French and Spanish transfer markets remain open until September 18, while the German market has already closed. The English transfer market will also come to a close this week. Despite the relatively low investment compared to the men's game, the women's transfer market is showing a promising trend. Notable transfers include Alexia Putellas, the Spanish double Ballon d'Or winner, who has left FC Barcelona to join London City Lionesses, and French international attacker Kadidiatou Diani, who has also joined the English club.
