Marc Guiu, a youth international for Spain, has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with RB Leipzig. The 20-year-old forward has already played at the highest level and in the Champions League, having made his debut for Chelsea's senior team as a teenager. He joins RB Leipzig after a stint at Sunderland, where he was recalled after just three matches due to injuries in the Chelsea squad.
RB Leipzig's managing director for sport Marcel Schäfer believes Guiu is a good fit for the club, praising his intensity, tempo, and commitment. "Marc is a very good fit in the RB DNA with his intensity, tempo and incredible commitment. He has a lot of energy against the ball but is a presence in the box," Schäfer said. The club is confident that Guiu can immediately help them with his quality and mentality, while still having great potential to develop further.
Guiu will wear the No.9 shirt for RB Leipzig and provide an alternative attacking option for the team. He joins the club after a successful start to their Bundesliga campaign, which saw them defeat Borussia Mönchengladbach 3-0 on Saturday.
