The French top club had a verbal agreement with Parma for Suzuki's transfer, and had even sent a private plane to Italy to pick him up for a medical examination. However, the deal has been scrapped due to problems with the Japanese goalkeeper. VoetbalPrimeur reports that Suzuki's issues have led to the cancellation of the transfer.

Aston Villa is now looking to capitalise on the situation, with the Premier League club willing to match the offer of over 30 million euros made by Paris Saint-Germain. The English side has opened negotiations with Parma and Suzuki, in a bid to bring the goalkeeper to the Midlands.
