The transfer was confirmed by Voetbal International, with the deal being completed just four minutes before the deadline. PEC Zwolle's technical director Gerry Hamstra revealed that Filip Krastev was not an option for the club due to his high price tag when fit.
Krastev had previously played for PEC Zwolle, but was currently under contract with Lommel SK, who had promoted to the top tier in Belgium last season. Hamstra stated that the club decided to close the transfer window after a meeting with the staff, but then received a last-minute contact from Krastev's side. Lommel eventually agreed to the transfer after Krastev's recent injury at Göztepe.
The transfer was finalized at 23:56, with Krastev expected to regain his fitness before potentially signing a three-year contract with PEC Zwolle if the deal works out.
