Nigel R. was arrested in January for his alleged involvement in drug trafficking. However, he was not put in pre-trial detention and was allowed to return home under certain conditions. According to Kristof Aerts, the spokesperson for the Belgian Public Prosecution Service, these conditions were lifted after a few months. R. is still scheduled to appear in court on October 15 in Antwerp.
Despite the ongoing case, R. has signed with Sliema Wanderers and has already scored a goal for the club. He was previously a free agent after leaving Spartak Subotica in Serbia. R.'s football career has taken him to various clubs, including AEL Limassol, Kalba FC, D.C. United, Levski Sofia, and SC Cambuur, after his brief stint with Feyenoord.
