Neymar's sport marketing company, NR Sports, will now be featured on Santos' jersey. The transfer ban was imposed by FIFA on 1 July after a dispute between Santos and AS Monaco over a 2 million euro payment. AS Monaco had received the payment from Santos after the transfer of Jean Lucas in 2023, but the Brazilian club failed to pay the amount, leading to the ban.
The ban has now been lifted, allowing Santos to sign new players. Philippe Coutinho, a free agent after leaving Vasco da Gama in February, is set to join Santos on a short-term basis. Coutinho had a personal conversation with Neymar before deciding to join the club, following in the footsteps of Everton Cebolinha, who also joined Santos after speaking with Neymar.
Neymar has been involved in Santos' transfer policy since lifting the ban, playing a role in the signing of Arthur Melo, who has a history with FC Barcelona, Juventus, and Liverpool.
