Mark Diemers, a former Eredivisie player, is on the verge of returning to Dutch football after leaving SC Cambuur this summer. Diemers has been training with FC Emmen but it appears he will not be signing a contract with the club. According to RTV Drenthe, Diemers is likely to join a top Keuken Kampioen Divisie club or an Eredivisie team. VoetbalPrimeur reports that Diemers is expected to sign a new contract next week, although the identity of the club remains unknown. Fortuna Sittard were previously mentioned as a potential destination. Diemers has previously played for Fortuna Sittard, as well as FC Utrecht, Feyenoord and De Graafschap. He has also played abroad for Hannover 96 in Germany and AEK Larnaca in Cyprus.
