The club has confirmed that he has become the youngest player in its history to reach 50 goals. Even Lionel Messi, who achieved this milestone at 21 years and 120 days, was a relatively late bloomer compared to Yamal.
Yamal's achievement also sees him top the competition record, surpassing Raúl González, who reached 50 goals for Real Madrid at 19 years and 249 days. Fernando Torres, who was playing for Atlético Madrid at the time, completes the podium with 20 years and 221 days. Yamal is now the youngest player in the top five competitions to reach 50 goals, beating Kylian Mbappé (19 years and 241 days) and Erling Haaland (20 years and 196 days) to the mark.
