In 2014, during the men's World Cup held in Brazil, the stadium was used by Nigeria as an official training centre.
The 2027 Women's World Cup will feature eight stadiums across the country to host the 32 teams and 64 matches. The list includes the Maracanã, Mineirão, Mané Garrincha, Arena Pernambuco, Beira-Rio, Fonte Nova, Castelão, and Neo Química Arena. The Brinco de Ouro is not among the eight stadiums that will host matches. The Guarani believes that hosting important competitions and matches helps demonstrate the stadium's conditions and infrastructure, which can be beneficial for international delegations.
