José Boto, Flamengo's director of football, has identified four players from the Portuguese league who could reinforce the club. These players are Gianluca Prestianni, a midfielder from Benfica, who is currently suspended for six games by UEFA after a discriminatory act against Vinícius Júnior in February 2026. The other players mentioned by Boto are Maximiliano Araújo, Victor Froholdt and Tomás Araújo. Boto also expressed his disappointment at the lack of culture among professionals in Portugal who play in the league, as they do not accept transfers to Brazilian football despite being paid good salaries.
