The DFB sports tribunal found that the referee's error was not an obvious one, and that Wagner had entered the pitch solely to communicate with his players, rather than moving towards the referee.
The association's sports tribunal cited Section 11 No. 3 of the DFB Legal and Procedural Regulations, which allows for an exception to be made in cases where the referee's error is not obvious. As a result, the automatic suspension has been lifted, and Wagner will be free to lead Elversberg against Bayern Munich on Sunday.
