The Serie A side, who qualified for the Champions League for the first time in the club's history at the end of the 2025-26 season, had faced uncertainties as to the host venue for their home matches in Europe this coming season. Football Italia reports that Como had considered playing their Champions League home games at Sassuolo's Mapei Stadium, around 200km away from the city of Sinigaglia, due to concerns over the stadium's ability to meet UEFA requirements.
However, the club has confirmed that they have undertaken a series of renovations to ensure that the stadium meets UEFA standards. This means that the team will be able to play their home Champions League matches at their regular home stadium. The renovations included the construction of a new stand and upgrades across the stadium's infrastructure, safety, and operational facilities.
Como will now host their Champions League matches at the Stadio Sinigaglia, allowing their supporters to experience the Club's first season in the competition at home, on the shores of Lake Como.
