Chivu, who played for Ajax from 1999 to 2003, is well aware of the atmosphere at De Kuip, Feyenoord's home stadium. "What strikes me most about this stadium is that we won the cup here," he said. "I know the atmosphere here very well. It's incredible, thanks to the huge passion of the fans. I know what kind of atmosphere they can create." Despite the nostalgia, Chivu's focus is solely on the match against Feyenoord.
Voetbal International reports that Inter has a lot of work to do in the Champions League, following their loss to AC Milan in the derby. Chivu, however, has full trust in his team, saying, "I have the utmost confidence in the group, especially considering what we've shown so far. I'm convinced they'll do well. We can only learn from negative moments and mistakes, because these young players have achieved a very high level, which is in line with what Inter represents."
