Cambuur FC's summer transfer window has been marked by disappointment, with several failed deals, according to the club's technical manager Lars Lambooij. The club had been in talks with Manchester City over the loan of several talents, but ultimately failed to secure the signings of Sverre Nypan and Ryan McAidoo. VoetbalPrimeur reports that Lambooij explained that Nypan chose to join Lommel, the sister club of Manchester City, while McAidoo was retained by City's first team.

Lambooij also revealed that the club had been interested in signing vleugelaanvaller Ryan McAidoo, but Manchester City decided to keep him with the first team. This is not the only failed deal for Cambuur FC, as the club had also been in talks with a club from the East for outshining Ismaël Baouf, but the deal ultimately fell through due to a disagreement over the transfer fee.
