Julian Brandt scored a goal against Fortuna Sittard, controlling a deflected ball on his chest before unleashing a dropkick from the edge of the penalty area. The goal gave Ajax a 0-1 lead, which ultimately led to a convincing 1-5 victory in Zuid-Limburg. Voetbalzone reports that ESPN analyst Hans Kraay junior was impressed by Brandt's goal, describing it as "ingehouden en technisch gedaan" (held back and technically done).

Brandt's performance was not without its flaws, however. According to Voetbalzone, Brandt himself was not satisfied with his performance, citing several sloppy passes. Despite this, he remained humble and composed, telling his teammates to remove the sloppy parts from their game. Brandt's message to his teammates was clear: "Vandaag ging het goed. Maar je kunt de volgende wedstrijd misschien wel meer goals incasseren. Dan wordt het allemaal een stuk lastiger" (Today went well, but you might concede more goals in the next match. Then it will be a lot harder).
