Caio Suassuna, the nephew of renowned author Ariano Suassuna, is set to join Avaí on loan from Bahia, where he has been impressing in the under-20 team with 15 goals and 2 assists in 23 games. The 19-year-old has also made six appearances for Bahia's professional team under coach Rogério Ceni.
Suassuna's potential move to Avaí comes after he was called up to the Brazilian under-20 national team for a friendly match against Chile, where he came on as a substitute in a 1-0 win. He also scored a goal in Bahia's 16-0 Copa do Brasil Sub-20 win over Atlético-BA.
The transfer window closes on Friday, and Suassuna is already in Florianópolis, suggesting that the deal is imminent.
