The club put Portuguese lessons in Cissé's routine and helped with the entire process of his change from the CT to living in a house. Benjamin Lelaidier, a translator and French teacher, was waiting for Cissé at the airport in Confins, a city near Belo Horizonte, on May 8, 2025. Cissé arrived alone, shy, and not speaking Portuguese, with only one bag. His dream of playing football was about to be realised at Atlético-MG.
Lelaidier was with Cissé for approximately six months. He helped Cissé with everything from basic things to understanding the coach's instructions during training. The club supervised the entire process, but Cissé had to understand it himself. Lelaidier would often be by Cissé's side, even during games.
The support also came from the players. In the sub-20 team, the group tried to insert Cissé and help him adapt. The 19-year-old midfielder Pedrinho was the one who got closest to Cissé. Pedrinho took Cissé to explore Belo Horizonte, from shopping to a barbershop. He helped Cissé feel more at ease in his new surroundings.
The club's assistance social and Play Care departments played a crucial role in Cissé's adaptation. They helped him with everything from finding a house to learning how to cook. The goal was to make Cissé feel at home and help him integrate into the team.
Cissé has been with Atlético-MG for a year and has played 21 games, scoring one goal. He has recently signed a contract with the club and has received offers from European teams, particularly in Italy. His goal is to play in the Mundial de Clubes with Atlético-MG.
