Athletic Bilbao's international call-up list has expanded to include Mexican goalkeeper Padilla, who has Mexican nationality, and Guinea-Bisáu forward Djaló, who has Guinea-Bisáu nationality. Padilla, who was in the prelist for the Spanish national team, will participate in Rafa Márquez's debut as a selector. Djaló, who was in the prelists of the Spanish national team when he played for Braga, accepted the call of Guinea-Bisáu last season.

Padilla has been called up for Guinea-Bisáu's friendly matches against Colombia, Perú, the United States, and Chile. Djaló has been called up for Guinea-Bisáu's matches against Tanzania and Nigeria. The Athletic will face Real in the Euskal Herria Kopa final without Simón and Padilla, and will have to rely on Santos, their third-choice goalkeeper, who has a match with Bilbao Athletic that Sunday.
