Holan, the last champion coach of Independiente, won two titles in the Copa Sudamericana 2017 and the Suruga Bank 2018. He has spoken about his time at the club and the conditions he needs to return. In an interview, Holan stated that the current situation is difficult from an institutional point of view, but he finds a positive aspect in the upcoming elections. "This is a complicated time for the club, and I think more as a fan than as a coach. In this complicated moment, which will end with an election, my opinion is positive, and the positive aspect is that there will be elections," he said.
Holan has spoken with some directors of Independiente and has expressed his desire to discuss projects ahead of the electoral campaign. "If a director comes to me and says you want to be the coach and the project is there, I would evaluate it and accept it," he explained. However, Holan ruled out wanting to be president, stating that "one has to prepare for the roles."
The club's Assembly will take place on Tuesday, 29 September, where it will be decided when the vote will take place, scheduled for December of this year.
