The seven Serie A players included in the squad are Lautaro Martinez (Inter), Leonardo Balerdi, Santiago Castro, and Matias Soule (all Roma), Nico Paz (Como), Franco Mastantuono (Fiorentina), and Nico Gonzalez (Juventus). Martinez, the reigning Capocannoniere, has scored two goals from three appearances in Serie A this season and is part of Inter's 100% win record. Roma also boasts a 100% win record after four matches.
Roma's trio of Serie A players have made the cut, with Balerdi, Castro, and Soule all earning their first call-ups. Despite his impressive Serie A form, Paulo Dybala has not been included, nor has Nahuel Molina, who has 65 caps for Argentina. The squad will be in action in a series of friendlies against Bolivia, Burkina Faso, and Benin over the next few weeks.
The inclusion of 19-year-old Franco Mastantuono, on loan from Real Madrid, is a notable one, as he has been rewarded with a call-up after his hat-trick in Fiorentina's 4-2 victory away against Venezia. Nico Paz, a 22-year-old from Como, has also been included, having already earned 11 caps for Argentina. Lastly, Nico Gonzalez, back in the fold with Juventus after his 2025-26 loan spell with Atletico Madrid, has also been included, having scored his first Serie A goal of the season in a 2-0 win against Parma.
The full squad can be seen on the official Argentina Twitter account.
