Andy Diouf joined Inter in the summer of 2025. He found it difficult to break into the Scudetto and Coppa Italia-winning midfield amidst stiff competition from players such as Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu, Piotr Zielinski, Petar Sucic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Davide Frattesi (F2, F3). However, Diouf has impressed in his new role at right wing-back, starting in two out of three Serie A matches and against Real Madrid in the Champions League (F7).

Diouf has made it clear that he would prefer to play in central midfield, where he feels most natural. "I never thought I'd play in this position," he confessed, explaining that he will do whatever his coach asks of him 'with no hesitation' (F1). Inter's midfield department has been strengthened by the addition of Curtis Jones and Aleksandar Stankovic this summer, which may make it harder for Diouf to return to his preferred position (F4).
