Wrexham completed two signings on transfer deadline day, announcing deals for centre back Joe Worrall from Burnley and midfielder Callum O'Hare from Sheffield United. The deal for Worrall, 29, is for a transfer fee in the region of £2 million ($2.7m), sources told ESPN, while the deal for O'Hare could reach £7 million ($9.4m). Wrexham have started the 2026-27 season with two draws and a loss in the Championship and were eager to bolster their squad before the window shuts on Tuesday evening.
ESPN Soccer reports that Worrall has been at Burnley since 2024 after joining from Nottingham Forest and played 11 times for them in the Premier League last term. Worrall has signed a deal with Wrexham, stating: "I'm really pleased to be here. I'm super excited to get my teeth into working with good players, the manager and the ownership. I'm here to win football matches and achieve something special."
O'Hare will add to Wrexham's options at attacking midfield and has signed a three-year deal with an option for a further year. The 28-year-old has signed with Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson's seventh signing of the summer, stating: "The club's so big and well known and I just really wanted to come here. I'm so excited to get started. I want to help the club go in the right direction and hopefully get what everyone wants - promotion to the Premier League."
