The Romanian Football Federation (FRF) has introduced a new rule in the sport, with the black card being handed out to parents who engage in unacceptable behaviour during youth matches. This was confirmed by VoetbalPrimeur.
The black card is the final step in a three-stage plan to tackle aggressive behaviour from the sidelines. Initially, referees will ask coaches to speak to the parents, followed by a temporary suspension of the match if the behaviour continues. The black card will result in the match being abandoned immediately. The FRF aims to reduce the pressure on young players and prevent aggressive behaviour from affecting the outcome of matches.
