Vitesse's general director Willem van der Linden has expressed his ambition for the club to return to the Eredivisie by 2030. He believes that the Eredivisie is the place where Vitesse belongs in the Dutch football pyramid. Van der Linden also stated that he thinks the team should aim to reach the play-offs this year, citing that they would have been on a play-off spot if the points deduction from last season was taken into account.

Trainer Rüdiger Rehm has expressed his support for Van der Linden's ambition, stating that it sounds realistic and is what the club should aim for. He believes that Vitesse is not a club that should stay in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie for four, five, or six years. Rehm thinks that the club has the necessary resources, including a good stadium and supporters, to achieve their goal. He also thinks that 2030 is a realistic target for the club's return to the Eredivisie.

For this season, Rehm's main goal is to earn more points than last season. He believes that the team had a better plan in place this summer, although it was not perfect.
