The changes come as Fiorentina look to bounce back from a disappointing start to the 2026-27 Serie A season. Neither side have won any of their first three matches, with newly-promoted Venezia falling to early defeats against Lecce, Milan and most recently Frosinone, leaving them on zero points with a goal difference of -5. Football Italia reports that Fiorentina spent heavily to transform their playing squad and coaching staff over the summer after a massively disappointing 2025-26 campaign, which saw them flirting with relegation for much of the season.
Vanoli is now back in the dugout and has changed half of the Fiorentina side that lost to Torino last weekend, replacing Joao Mario, Victor Valdepenas, Christ Inao Oulai, Marco Brescianini and Mateo Pellegrino with Alex Jimenez, Luca Ranieri, Arthur Atta, Cher Ndour and Beto. Beto comes in for his full Fiorentina debut following his late summer transfer from Everton.
Venezia have made a handful of changes following their recent defeat against Frosinone, bringing Matias Moreno into the back three, Richi Sagrado in at left wing-back and John Yeboah in at centre-forward in place of Albion Rrahmani. Kick-off is due at 19.45 BST.
