Internally, there is a sense of optimism surrounding the sale, with representatives of Lamacchia maintaining contacts with members of the regulatory agency and having already made a previous presentation of the structure of the company that they intend to form in the purchase of the SAF. The Anresf (National Agency for Regulation and Sustainability of Football) has instaurated a procedure to verify a possible conflict of property in the sale, which is the first time the agency has opened an investigation of this type.
The agency will verify if a single person exercises, or can exercise, direct or indirect control or significant influence over more than one club participating in the same competition, which is prohibited by article 86 of the Regulation of the Financial Sustainability System.
Representatives of Lamacchia have stated that they are willing to make any adjustments requested by the Anresf, and the club has been notified to present a manifestation and comply with the determined diligences, as well as the Palmeiras, Almirante Participações and Empreendimentos S.A., Crefipar and Banco Crefisa.
The Vasco da Gama will be temporarily prevented from establishing commercial relations with Palmeiras, and will not be able to perform financial operations, such as permanent transfers or player loans, or share structures, until the case is analyzed. The procedure is expected to last around a month, and the instauration does not represent any positioning on the merits of the operation or an evaluation of the proposed structure.
