Police arrived early at the Vasco da Gama training centre on Monday morning, before the start of training sessions. Many players and staff arrived at the location, still with the presence of police. The search began at Corrêa's home, where he was accompanied by his own car to the club's training centre. He did not want to give statements on the way out.
Globo Esporte Futebol reports that the police searched Corrêa's belongings in the vestiary at the training centre, but only found his football boots. The investigation is also looking into possible involvement of other professional footballers and businesspeople with the group being investigated.
The operation is being carried out simultaneously in various states, involving around 100 police officers, over 38 vehicles and two helicopters. The Polícia Civil do Espírito Santo has stated that the operation is part of a joint effort between police forces to enforce judicial measures and tackle organisations that operate across state borders.
