Konadu has been a part of Ajax's youth academy since 2014, when he was signed from Zeeburgia, a known talent factory in Amsterdam. Despite having a contract with Ajax until 2028, Konadu does not expect to play minutes under the new trainer Míchel Sánchez. Ajax has recently bolstered its squad with the acquisitions of Marcos Leonardo and Tolu Arokodare, and Kasper Dolberg is also on the list of preferred players.
Konadu has received interest from clubs in Belgium, but has not yet made a decision. Ajax wants to give Konadu the opportunity to play in a different environment and gain valuable experience, with the ultimate goal of returning to the club and competing for a starting spot. Sparta Rotterdam is now in the running to sign Konadu, with Ajax expected to make a decision on his future in the coming weeks.
